Author’s Notes: Letter to the Curator.

Author’s Note
One must imagine upon reading this letter the state Ruby was put in, or even put upon. One must wonder how she kept herself so happy when the warning in this letter stated a friend would soon be dead. Regina, by merely being a good person in a bad situation, put her and those around her in considerable danger. That she would die, one would think this would toss a good friend into an emotional collapse. How did Ruby hold herself so well? In truth, it was mostly because the letter was written in red.
Another truth is that Ruby probably saw it coming. One must imagine that it was not mere friendship that held Ruby to her word, though in describing Ruby’s character, one could hope mere friendship would be enough. An understanding of Regina’s nature would ensure that more than friendship would be relied upon. In fact there were a considerable number of coins unclaimed, unknown, and the red letter was a quiet marker to Ruby that she would now be able to claim them. How long Ruby waited to claim them, or if she ever bothered, may well be a topic for another time.

Looks like Ruby knew that the day would come sometime. She was still strong to be able to wait to break down till she was alone.
