    a ducted fan is very efficient and can be powered by a geared up dc or ac motor
    You can also get a lot of power from hot water
    just take an ordinary steel tank insulate it and putt a heating element in it. Heat water until its about 400f and open a valve to let out some steam. You can send it to an engine or directly to a rocket nozzle

    Also, water is pretty heavy, so it would be somewhat inefficient to try to power a plane engine with it…unless you weren’t all that concerned about the plane’s ability to stay in the air, lol.
